brothers Kev & Dave

Our story begins when in 1996 Dave started working for a small Metal Spinning Company as a welder, After a period of growth Kev joined the team shortly after leaving school in 1998. The two brothers worked on and off with each other for over 10 years until  2010 when a chance arose to start up on their own.

Our first premises was literally a converted pig shed which was roughly 800 sq ft which we quickly outgrew before relocating to the heart of Portsmouth in 2011. The following year our first employees joined.

In 2013 we achieved ISO 9001 accreditation which was a huge step in the right direction of where we wanted to be. After 4 more employees and a further 6 years we had outgrown once again and relocated to our current premises of 4500 sq ft in Waterlooville at the end of 2019 which we completed the purchase of in October 2024 which not only offers us security but also peace of mind for our customers that we are a stable established company.

testimonials

a few words from our customers

Phil Whiting – Delta Xero

We’ve been using Calibre Metal since 2018 when we first moved into manufacturing and the help, support and advice we have received from Dave and the team is second to none. They have been integral to our growth as manufacturer throughout the years. The relationship we have with them has seen Calibre become one of our closest suppliers and we absolutely cannot fault the service and quality we receive. It’s been a pleasure working with Dave and the team and I look forward to continuing this relationship for many years to come.

Rupert – Hercules Propellers

We are delighted with the spun steel cover plates that Calibre produced for us. We required some obsolete parts for a historic aircraft propeller and provided Calibre with original WW2 drawings. Calibre produced tooling and the parts they made for us are perfectly to specification and conform to the tight tolerances
